I find packing a well balanced lunch to be a difficult task. Not an impossible one, but I do think it requires planning and at 10p at night, after a long day at work, when I am quickly running out of steam, my mind is mush and I kind of just throw together whatever I have on hand. Salads, which I greatly enjoy during lunch, I find to be particularly difficult to put together as they require a separate dish from whatever else you’re having, plus another container for your dressing.
So, when bf spotted the Box Appetit by Black + Blum (MSRP $25) one day, I was eager to try it. A simple box that allows you to take a salad that will not get soggy AND a sandwich or leftovers, all in one container? AND it comes with a fork? Sold.
I went home and quickly tried it out. I loaded up the salad part, threw a sandwich in the sandwich container and poured salad dressing into the salad dressing holder. Then I sealed it up and…tested it out. I held it upside down for a few seconds and then sideways. Nothing moved. It looked like it would work so I gave it to bf the next day to put in his bag vertically until he got to work. He happily took it and reported to me at lunch that the lettuce was still crispy and nothing had leaked. The main lid has a plastic edge that appears to do a great job with sealing.

Ready to go!
That all happened about four months ago. Since, we have purchased an additional one and regularly take lunches in them.
Times 2:
To this day, nothing has leaked and I am incredibly pleased with the purchases. I highly recommend the Box Appetit if you enjoy having a salad with your lunch like I do.
Happy lunching!
